I have created a Character named Freedom-tan – or, in Japanese, Jiyu-tan (自由たん



She started out as a ~ "thought with a purpose" ~ so she can be used as a mascot for (Yes to Freedom)... more on this in a moment.

But, first some.... explanation and...


History ~

I have not drawn (anything) in many years, since 1985 in all honesty, and to tell you the truth, I fell behind the curve in my animé girls creations.

Her creation was ~ NOT UP-TO-PAR ~ to my standards - (nor to) - today's picky public standards ether! - considering how people are all anal about that sort of thing, (plus) myself also being anal and having OCD perfection issues prevented me from improving on her creation.

I had the rough sketches, the ideas placed, and as much practice I was doing in bring her to life... but, I (alas) I had brain-locks and freezes... and (even) the inspiration was slowly draining from my soul...

So, to rectify this *constant fail*...


I thought I would ask/seek for some assist from some artists here on DA, and so a commission request was under way...

I searched about DA (for weeks) in the hopes that I can/could find someone to assist me in the finalization stages with the creation of my Character Idea.

I looked about, finding several artists that I really-really liked, thought would do justice to the idea I had in my mind, and so I made a list of them.


I tried many...

However, the list was shortened quickly... due to one thing or another and I FOUND that many artist had BIG EGOS! ~ even some that needed - THAT EGO - rubbed constantly! ~ *rolls eyes*

I think it was because of their fan bases ~ (some had HUGE ones) ~ and so - (I guess) - they thought they were gods of all manga/animé style drawing. ~

I also found some that didn't quite understand what I was wanting and or that communication/language barriers prevented any further discussion or contact.

I also found some that had ~ too stringent lists ~ on how to request a commission request.


ATOM-ix ~

But, I came across DA page, I looked over his style, and liked what I seen. ~ It was perfect for what I was wanting...

So, I sent the note requesting a commission from him, and the results are as you see... PERFECT!

A: If you wish to help our cause, see the “articipate” page and act accordingly. Something as simple as sending a letter, when accomplished by several hundreds of people, can have a big impact. If, afterwards, you want to help the organisation itself, consider joining the forums.

Q: “Can I donate to you?”

A: We are a non-profit, although informal, organisation. At the moment, we do not need any money as the hosting fees and such are negligible. However, this may change in the future.

Q: “Why are your members using pseudonyms?”

A: Many reasons motivate that choice. The first might be that having originated from the Internet itself, the anonymity of the members somewhat remained de facto. There is also the fact that the controversial issues that we defend might attract some unwanted attention, that we would not wish to see directed towards our person off-line.

Q: “I have a great idea for a new project/campaign/etc.”

A: Post it on the forums or send it by email at contact@yestofreedom.org.

Q: “If I support your organization, does that mean I’m into [insert "deviant" material here]?”

A: Supporting our organization means supporting freedom of speech.

It does not mean that you partake in the expression that we defend, only that you support people’s right to explore such topics through thought, speech, and expression.

As free citizens of the world, it is our responsibility to stand up in defence when those freedoms are being threatened, less for the sake of the particular materials being censored than for the encroachment on freedom itself.

A strike against freedom anywhere is a strike against freedom everywhere.

Well, I was curious as to how many Rukia Images I managed to amass in these past Days, Months, and past Years...

On my - 1tb EHDD - I have amassed a continuing total of 60,000 images of the profound Rukia in all her glory and beauty... and (yes) including my private ~ "H Collection" ~ that I have.

~ and - here on DA - I have about 4,000 Rukia Images... (only) ...counting the - The Rukia Shrine and - NOT - counting the extension Shrines.



... and so it continues... looking for ALL things Rukia! ~ ~
